sort of spamming, haha. and lol should've probably done this last december, but whatever, it still applies okay.
( year-end/2009 fandom meme; )
and and and, accdg. to my last.fm, 2009's winners were:
( last.fm charts for the last twelve months; )
and finally that general first line per month meme i usually do (although lol there were months when i posted a total of one entry going sth like "HI I'M ALIVE"):
Take the first sentence (or two) from the first entry of each month and post it here. That's your year in review.( january → december; )
anyway. jfc, i should make it a new year's resolution to start sounding less retarded again in this lj. but, oh. thing to be happy about: c.n. blue teasers in the morning. :D:D:D

just 'cause entry needed to be prettier.

Will TRY to really get these done in 2010.
1. CUT DOWN on smoking.
Yeah, yeah. I know that smoking is bad. I'd actually started this bad habit when I turned 20. I had just shifted courses in college and was feeling the wrath of my parents (who pushed me into taking up Medical Technology and pursue medical school afterwards) and the pressure to maintain my GPA. Tried going cold turkey, but it didn't work wonders for me. During my degree paper, I was smoking more heavily because of group mates who simply do not understand the concept of TEAM WORK and having to pull twice my weight around because another groupmate was having a minor nervous breakdown, I kid you not.
It's been 3 years since I graduated from college and since interacting with different personalities is part of my job (I have an internet shop and people here aren't exactly schooled in manners), at times having a cigarette is the only way I can de-stress.
Oh, and have I mentioned that I'm also asthmatic? XD
2. Minimize Game Rage

Enough said.
3. Try to be nice to the people with major attitude that come to the shop. Key word: TRY.

Cosplay.ph and Diliman Prepatory School proudly present the official unveiling of the first ever Cosplay Museum in the Philippines on Friday, January 8, 2010! The museum will feature historical cosplay costumes, a cosplay historical gallery and an extensive gallery from premier cosplay photographers. There will also be an area for Cosplay Workshops that will serve to instruct beginners as well as tackle more advanced cosplay topics.A joint project of Cosplay.ph and Diliman Prepatory School, the Cosplay Museum is meant as an educational beacon to enlighten the general public about Cosplay, its roots and historical landmarks in the Philippines and to educate the youth on the various aspects of Cosplay. The museum is also a venue for allowing Cosplayers to congregate and have their own small activities with the frequency that is impossible in most large-scale conventions.
The Cosplay Museum is open Mondays to Fridays at 9am to 3pm. It will open on weekends if there will be other special announced activities to be held there.

Would anyone know the location of the following items that I own:
Batman: Hush volumes 1 and 2
Identity Crisis (the one where Tim/Robin III's dad-- yeah)
Pitch a Rainbow (the Oofuri anthology)
I was staring at my shelf earlier today trying to see what exactly was missing, and realized that these four are. The first three are probably with non-LJ acquaintances, though, but I can't for the life of me remember who. Now, if you have my PaR, please to spit it out!
Also, things I left at home/in the bag I was using last week:
- Company ID,
- Train cards.
I need to stop making lists out of everything.

Happy New Year! I should say. Though it's already the 4th day, I feel obliged to say it anyway. To start off the coming of the new year, I created a new account here in LiveJournal. At first, I was thinking if I would just revive my old account. In the end, a friend told me to create a new one since it would also mean a fresh start for me. He was right and so here it is.
First off, how did I spent the coming of the new year? Nothing much really. It hasn't been that long since the 2010 entered. I went shopping for a few necessities though. I also bought several new clothes. Was planning to buy a new bag and maybe a couple of new pair of pants but that might have to wait since I already spent a lot last December. orz
New Year's Resolution: Can't say I have any. I mean, why wait till the new year comes and decided to change something in yourself? You can always to that even if it's not New Year, right?
Plans for the coming year: I might go back studying. That is, if my mom would let me. I'm thinking of taking up a vocational course if mom won't let me enroll at a university again. But if so, then I might take up Chemistry or Engineering. (o.o)
Well, that's that for now. More in the coming days. I hope. XD
And again, Happy New Year to all!

this is a great way to start my new year, a new account in Livejournal. believing this can be a necessity for my everyday activities, i thought twice in making a new account rather than retaining the old one.
i have a lot of plans this January. for one, the band needs to prepare for the upcoming event in a few weeks for which we'll be able to perform for the first time this year. also, needs to work on our Gintama cosplay for god knows when.

yeah, the party last week was the best we ever had for a few years. we created certain activities and ideas we can apply for the anime event in a few weeks time. it's all good... i mean, great!
happy new year! >D

Just and FYI for people who constantly visit Cosplay.ph, the site's down again even if we paid the subscription to last until 2011. What an annoying way to start the New Year.
The site will be down until hopefully up by January 4, 2010- when the server flunkies start getting back to work.
So hopefully no worries till then. Thanks for the concerns. Spread the word. Happy New Year to everyone!

Happy New Year, guys! Hello, hello, 2010!
And I apparently spent the last week of the year not updating my LJ. Huuuu--
This has, I think, been my busiest holiday ever. Usually we'd just go out twice to relatives and kick back the rest of the vacation, but this year we had relatives from far away coming to visit, resulting in the family being out of the house nearly every day. Fun tiems, though.
There were a few breaks, like on the 26th and 27th, where the usual gang went off for some shenanigans as has been documented by Maman. Fun tiems, fun tiems.
haha, no productive things were done fandom-wise... Good job, self! In 2010, I must be able to catch up to the series I've been keeping track of!
Man, 2009... It started out pretty damn great, what with
factorielle coming over and some good shit happening at work! And then everything went a little awry from there... and then fall outs... and then my dad got that brain surgery... getting discouraged from school... work things............. yeah. BUT! A lot of good things happened, too! I met a lot of new people, mostly through RP! And then I also got closer to the friends I have now, which is best! And I AM enjoying my second semester of MA. And I think I have grown some as a person, despite everything.
As is always the case, ending the year right is important, and this month has been pretty kind. Here's to 2009! My horoscope says 2010 is going to be tougher, but let's go kick ass !
Note to self: When net is better, update

Whats 2010 for me?
Its when politicians finally find out who loves them and who loves them not.
Its when I find out i've been a cosplayer, or involved in cosplay, for 10 years.
Its when I find out if i get to be 37 and still be cute.
Its when I count down 24 months before the end of the world.
Its when i find out if 2010 is indeed The Year We Make Contact.
Anyways, despite everything, I'm fairly optimistic about 2010. So cheers and here's to everyone a Happy New Year!

The problem with LJ:
We all think we are so close, but really we know nothing about one another. So I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me. Something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about. Ask away.
Then post this in your LJ and find out what people don't know about you.
Haha. I rambled on and on in my lj but maybe you still have some questions unanswered. 8D

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAa AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. i am, like, the easiest person alive, but tbh, my brain automatically went 'OH 'SHIP!!" when seungho first mentioned that he and soyeon were classmates in high school. SO EASY I KNOW, BUT HEY NOW HEY NOW:
SeungHo and SoYeon are known friends of 8 years, and they have attended the same high school AhnYang Arts High. And it was known that their mothers are also friendsT-ARA ON IDOL ARMY WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO AIR FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF. gdgdgh jfc, i'm so so easy, but i have bff-shipping kinks OKAY (case in point: hyuksu), so WHATEVER. 8D
After knowing about the news of the filming, SeungHo had even called up SoYeon’s mother to let her know about it. Also during filming, SoYeon has said to the camera doing an aegyo video message to SeungHo’s mother, “Auntie~ I kept my promise~”.
aaaa seungho, ilu even though your lips turn me off at times. ♥
in other news, tmr is the 30th. n-n-n-noraebang day OH HAIZ.
It was a definitely beautiful day to wake up to. Though the sun was shining, the weather was just right, neither too hot or too cold. I commented to Paul that it reminded of Tokyo. I left the house to a vividly blue sky, not a cloud in sight.
Then when I got on the highway heading to civilization, I could see a line of grey on the horizon. Of course, as we neared Makati, we realized it was hanging over the entire city skyline. I couldn't make myself believe the grey was caused by bad weather, so it had to be...

Looking back, 2009 seemed to be a long year for everyone. Even for me.
JANUARY
The year started for me on a very painful note. My cousin, Ate Nhang, passed away this January. It hurt me deeply, as it did everyone in the family. Even today, almost a year later, I still can't believe that she's gone forever.
On the brighter side of things though, two weeks later after the funeral, my cousin from Batangas got married.
Also,
yuri_san sent me this awesome Heise artbook. 8D
Shocking is also the news that barely two weeks into my new work at Wyeth, it was bought by Pfizer. ;_; Which led to a year long speculation about retrenchment.
Haha! I just found out that I started reading Menage a 3 last january. Time sure flies so fast!
FEBRUARY
Feb wasn't a good month to me either. ;_; Aside from the ever increasing stress from my new work, I sprained my ankle, again. >_> Which took another 4 months to heal.
Massive Pink Panzer Valentine release! \0/ Now I'm just sad we didn't manage a Christmas release too. >_>
Swimming! Wyeth friends and I went to 8waves for some R and R.
MARCH
Is super manga overload. I got books from
mhikaru as well as the love mode series i bought from jpqueen and had it sent to me via my friend audiobreather.
March was all about eating. It was also the not-so-official start of the study I was working on. Overtime here and there, staff lunches galore. You know the drill.
And, Craig David in Manila. 8D
APRIL
was all about beaches. 8D
We went to Pagudpud and Bohol.
MAY
Star Trek. *0* Spock.
Tried the Nitro Ice Cream over at Zenses. My sister's treat for the debutante cousin.
White water rafting. Ziplining. SAND BAR. *0* Oh, Camiguin-CDO, I <3 you.
It takes three men to fill up Arnold Schwarzenegger's shoes. - Ate Yen
JUNE
was the height of my Star Trek obsession. LOL.
And my birthday. But looking back, I realize I didn't post about it. LOL. Too busy?
And also: MICHAEL JACKSON. ;_;
JULY
I got my new mp3 player! :D
And then there was my Sherlock Holmes obsession which
mprice supported. And then there was my troubles with customs.
AUGUST
So I released the stress through extreme sports. LOL.
Highlight of the month was the unexpected mini reunion with my highschool classmates. Awesome!
SEPTEMBER
I just had to add this here. XD
Typhoon Ondoy. Stole like a thief in the night and left all of us shocked.
OCTOBER
FINALLY GOT MY BOOKS! Took me almost two months. WAT. :/
Backstreet boys! *0*
Halloween gimik at Ascend super club.
NOVEMBER
November is always our annual visit to my dad/lolo/ and now Ate Nhang's grave. Bungee jumpin'!
DECEMBER
December hallmarked a friend coming back to us.
Presents. PRESENTS! I hope everyone had a merry christmas!
Now let's embrance the new year with a big BANG!

In a few days it's adieu 2009 and we'll have to usher in 2010, year of the tiger.
Maybe it's just me, but it seems that Death himself is up for promotion. The guy has been working extra-hard this year, even targeting an entire lot of high-profile people, at times claiming mortals by the bundle as if there's a free-for-all annual sale in the afterlife and humans had never been cheaper.
This evening, as I was mere seconds from home...couldn't help but notice a bunch of people hanging what seems to be a funeral banner in the gate of our neighbor. I even woke my parents to tell them about it because they were really good friends with those who live in that house. As it turns out, Mang Steve -- one of the friendly neighbors that my dad likes chatting (and have cigarette breaks, away from my mom's eyes) with.
Death had always been a shocking, and at times horrific topic for me. And when it gets a little too close to home, you could not help but get paranoid. Yes, it is an inevitable part of life...but it's a great pain to deal with, especially during the holiday season.
2010 is another year of uncertainty for all of us. Especially here in the Philippines. 2010 means that the presidential seat is up for grabs again, and if we would base the seemingly-traditional election violence on the very recent Maguindanao Massacre....this one will be especially bloody.
Although personally, 2009 also had its' good points. It was this year that my parents had allowed me to grasp the reins of the family business. So, yes, whenever the tenants have issues..it has to go through yours truly. AND the other responsibilities that come with being a landlady. The first few weeks had been quite insane, which almost reduced me to tears (hence the long periods between updating this blog) because of the stress that comes with the job. But hey, what won't kill you only makes you stronger, right?
This year, I was also able to be with friends who I had not seen for ages. It was also a time to reconnect with people from the past (case in point: my former professors back in college and some classmates are on my Facebook haha). It was also a huge surprise when one of my college classmates called me up in the shop's landline. It was also through her that I found out that the University placed my business address and number in the yearbook. So classmates, if ever you guys are reading this, I live in Antipolo NOT in Ortigas Ave. Extension.
Also learned that charity should begin at home. After Typhoon Ondoy unleashed its' fury, my parents and I immediately headed to a supermarket and hoarded many packs of noodles, canned goods and bottled water. No, we did not hand it to an evacuation center, but to the informal settlers (squatters) who took shelter in an abandoned house across our own home. Mom couldn't have said it better "It's better to give something to them, instead of us receiving relief goods."
The latter part of 2009 found me getting back to one of the things that I was passionate about since the early 2000's, but my interest waned after 2004: good J-rock/J-pop music and anime with an epic plot.
Late is very late indeed, I recently got hooked on Uverworld's music (oh and I think Katsuya and Shintaro are the hottest members, compared to Takuya...the vocalist...no offense Mareng Lenuh ^_^). Oh, and one night of randomly playing Glay videos in the shop..stumbled upon 5 Centimeters Per Second which literally found me bawling in front of the computer.
Currently watching Kimi no Todoke which is supplied by the fabulous Zae! Torrents for the win! YEAAAAAH!
When it comes to online gaming, I am currently playing Weapons of War (WoW). This is not to be confused with the original WoW which stands for World of Warcraft. If any of you guys are interested, feel free to look me up in-game. I play in the Seven Stars server from about 9:00 pm (when the customers have dwindled down) until closing time.
As we usher in 2010, let us all hope for the best. Personally, I hope the next year will be a good one. Currently targeting to finally go on that proper vacation I'd been longing for since graduating from college.
XOXO.
